(For the sake of not exploding my brains, the following posts will be dated as how they appear to me. Adjust the days yourself please? Don't ask me how come got one extra day and then later ask me how come got missing day.)
So finally, we're going to Vancouver again, but this time, we're picking splitting up one week for Providence. Practically speaking, it costs like $200 more in total to add Providence into the tickets, so hey, why not?
Long flights are long and tiring. 8 + 11 + 3 = not fun at all. Slept nearly most of the flights as much as possible.
Landing in Narita brought some memories, since it was the first stopover. Quite excited, after all I HAVE SET FOOT IN JAPAN YO! Narita is quite interesting in how they have done the layout of the departure halls. Only 55 minutes for stopover, so a lot of rushing, and nothing else was done.
Then there was Minneapolis. Before landing, we were simply staring at the land below us. It's chequered, as though there are a lot of farmlands. There's the colours of Autumn below us, and it looked simply fantastic. And then there was this HUGE lake. When I say huge, it means, is that a sea we're looking at? US customs checks are very detailed, down to the shoes we're wearing. There weren't as many people I'd expect to see in an international airport, but it was fine, and it wasn't that cold since we're mainly indoors.
We took the airport skytram equivalent, and got stuck inside for a good 10 minutes. Heh. Apparently there was a technical deadlock error that they had to sort out. In the train, there were 2 airport crew inside munching on Mac Burgers (huge looking), chatting, and they radioed that they'd be late as they got stuck in the train. Najib joked that the very crew supposed to fix the technical problem could be sitting near us then. Heh.
The flight to Providence was a short one, and it was also low flying. It was quite interesting seeing how the flight attendants arrange people about for weight balance as it was a small aircraft. The whole time in the flight I was internally going "OMG I'M IN USA!" and then falling asleep immediately after.
Looking back, I think it's a rather good thing that I'm a pig. I can REALLY sleep, and go on sleeping.
And finally, at 5pm or so, we've landed in Providence Airport, picked up our luggage with no fuss and walked out to find Denny. We appeared somewhere else instead of where he thought we'll come from, so no grand entrance photograph. Instead, there was a hug, and then a picture on Denny's camera.

(Yes, I'm still tired after all the sleeping.)
Then we stepped out of the airport and the first thing I said was "Fuck it's cold!". It was (and is) VERY COLD. Both Denny and Najib (he seems alright apparently) laughed at me and we went to the car. As he drove us back to his apartment, I'm awed by the bright colors of Autumn and how clear the sky is. It's also refreshing to breathe air that is not moisture laden.
Incidently, I was also massaging my left arm that seems to have been sprained in Minneapolis Airport when I needed had to pick up my check in luggage to check in again. Heh.
Denny's apartment was in this cluster that had a very homely signboard, covered with bright flowers. As we walked towards the apartment, Denny pointed out he stream nearby and his apartment number so that we know what to ring in case we got locked out. Still shivering, we climb up the steps and it was home, for the next 7 days or so.
Meeting Kory was interesting, seeing that we've been acquainted since I was 16 or so. We weren't close at all of course, but I've always liked him. And the contrast between Denny and Kory physically is quite WOW. Denny points out the bed and the room to us. It was big and the bed was inviting. The couch was comfortable too, which was important since Denny was gonna be sleeping there the whole time we're there. At least he won't be having backaches, but I did worry if he was gonna get enough sleep.
Within the first hour, I'd showered and ready for bed. Adjustment will come after this pig has gotten enough rest :P
